FROM THE CATALOGUE:
“My aim for this exhibition was to show a great diversity in the works and high quality in both technique and content. And, of course, it was a difficult task. There were many more good works than the 73 that I selected for the main exhibition. But that is the hard job of a curator, making a final, limited choice among so many excellent prints.
The student works that arrived for the Splitgraphic competition were of high quality, experimenting with new media. In their works, we can currently notice a new, inspiring tendency that can be recognized among young artists. Many want to recapture the original ways of making prints and in this sense a revival of the traditional techniques is explored. It is so nice to see that so many young artists participated. I believe they are the future of printmaking!” (from the foreword by Ingrid Ledent)
