Group exhibition BASQUEGRAPHIA will take place in Salon Galić gallery in Split as a part of 9th Splitgraphic Biennial 2019-2020-
It is organised in partnership with FIG BILBAO and HULU-SPLIT.
Exhibition will present six young contemporary Basque printmakers: Alazne Zubizarreta, Javier Herrero, Eder Sanchez Perez, Iñaki Elosua, Marta Barragan and Miriam Gesalaga.
FIG Bilbao has brought together a group of new Basque engravers to publicize the latest news of the graphic that is carried out in the different workshops of the Basque Country. The exhibition brings together various research projects in which you can learn firsthand the current trends of contemporary engraving in the Basque Country.
This exhibition is diverse in techniques and subjects but its authors find a bond of union through graphic language, experimentation and sharing of research processes. All of them have a back ground based on the roots of the Basque people. An ancestral culture with a millenary language. People united to the land, the traditions that despite the swings and the passage of time, keep in mind their past.
